Update time!

I realise I shouldn't update weekly. Too much to update at one go!

Besides my ailing memory doesn't help. Last Tuesday I had my first mentor dinner. (After every mentor dinner, it's partying at LG) so that's standard procedure already. And the theme that night was "Welcome to Holland!" Everyone had to dress in orange or in colours of the Dutch Flag (Blue, white, red)

At the mentor dinner, the mentors (Dutch students) cooked us traditional Dutch fare. I was half expecting frikandel but I obviously forgot the cheaper alternative - Stamppot. Stamppot consists of mash potatoes, carrots and a brown sauce. It is served with a section of a huge wurst. The Stamppot is pretty okay, not much to rave about. They prepared another dish similar to the Stamppot but it's all green vegetables. That didn't taste that great, neither does it look too good. Haha... For desert, we had vla (pudding). Vla is like smooth viscous pudding instead of the agah-agah we have at home. That was quite tasty.

This is my mentor group, I manage to learn all their names by the second time I met them. Not too bad for someone who can't match names to faces usually.

Theme party at LG was quite good. Most people were dressed up and we had a great time. That's Kuba in huge $$ glasses and wizard hat.

And that's Denis from Belgium. I think he couldn't remember my name, so he called me Singaporean Man.

After LG, the camera battery went flat. That was when I realise I brought the wrong charger. Well technically speaking, my sister lent me her camera, and gave me a charger for my dad's camera. What a mess I got myself into. I have only myself to blame since I thought I can use my dad's casio exlim. But the camera was really quite crappy, I couldn't take proper pictures with it so I gave up in the end.

Next morning I went to class half awake. Group Dynamics wasn't too alien to me so I felt okay for the first session. In any case, that was only the first lesson so naturally it's not tough. There are a few assignments to do and we'll have to pass all of it. I hope that's not too difficult. But I really want to get the textbook soon but I refuse to pay 58 euros for the textbk. I'm getting a friend to find the book and bring it to London. I'm so troublesome. Better think of how to repay him a favour.

That afternoon I packed lunch. It was good lunch. I made 2 sandwiches and I bought warm soup from the food plaza (that's what it's called here). After class, I went to gym. There's an Abs workout program conducted by one of the gym staff that lasts for 15mins. I haven't been able to survive the first 5mins in good form yet. But I think it's good, I feel harder abs. Haha. But I still feel a bit skinny, have to eat more, or eat correctly.

I dragged myself to pilates and I felt so sleepy. Didn't enjoy the class, it was cold and there were too many girls. I felt intimidated. I didn't enjoy the class very much. Oh well.

On Thursday i had dinner with Dong Joo's place. We invited Jessie, Sandra, Kiwon, Celine, Kyle and Maria. But Maria couldn't come. I was suppose to cook the main dishes that night, but Dong Joo ended up cooking some main dishes as well. So there was some mis-comm. I made ginger-spring onion fish (姜葱鱼片) which crumbled as I was frying it. I also stir fried broccoli with carrots and meat, I made an ABC soup and steam egg with minced pork. The broccoli and fish received quite good feedback. Haha. Dong Joo made meat patties and pan fried tofu. The meat patties were so yummy! I have to learn from him.

On Friday I just took it easy, went to gym with Dong Joo and we played squash. It was great fun! I really liked the sport. Small racket sports are so much fun (read: tennis rackets are big rackets). We went for kebab dinner.. paid 8 Euros for it!! So expensive. But it was a huge portion which filled my hungry stomach.
